SMS Terms

Last updated:

CampaignAI is operated by Campaign AI Inc., a Canadian company. Businesses and individuals use CampaignAI to answer people who contact them and to text people who agreed to hear from them. These terms apply to every text message sent through CampaignAI.

1. Who sends these texts

Each text is sent on behalf of a business or person using CampaignAI. The first promotional text of a conversation starts with their name, for example “Riverside Bakery: …”, and replies to STOP and HELP name them too. That sender is responsible for what it writes and for having your consent. CampaignAI provides the phone number and the service that delivers the message, and it blocks texts that do not meet the rules below.

2. How people agree to get texts

We only deliver texts to a mobile number when one of these is on file for that sender:

  • Sign-up page or form. You enter your mobile number on the sender’s sign-up page and tick a box that is not ticked in advance. The box says who will text you, what about, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and that you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. The exact box and wording are shown on our SMS opt-in page.
  • You text the sender first. If you text a sender’s CampaignAI number, the sender can reply to you. Under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) your message is an inquiry: it lets the sender text you for up to 6 months. Replying STOP ends that at once.
  • You gave consent to the sender directly — in person, on paper, by email or on the phone. The sender must record how and when you agreed. CampaignAI keeps that record, with its source and date, for every contact.

Agreeing to get texts is never a condition of buying anything. CampaignAI does not let senders text numbers without consent on file, and senders may not use bought or rented lists of numbers.

3. What we send and how often

Texts can include replies to your questions, appointment and order updates, and news or offers from the sender. Message frequency varies with your conversation and the sender’s offers. Promotional texts are not sent between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. in your local time.

The first promotional text in a conversation names the sender and says how to stop: “Reply STOP to opt out.”

4. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for texts you send and receive, depending on your plan. Neither CampaignAI nor the sender charges you to get texts.

5. How to stop texts

Reply STOP to any text at any time. You can also reply ARRET, UNSUBSCRIBE, DESABONNER, CANCEL, END, QUIT or STOPALL. You get one text confirming that you are unsubscribed, and then no more texts from that sender’s number. This works immediately and overrides any earlier consent.

Changed your mind? Reply START to the same number to get texts again.

6. How to get help

Reply HELP (or AIDE or INFO) to any text. You get a reply that says who is texting you, how to reach them, and how to stop. You can also email support@campaignai.ca.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Your mobile number and privacy

We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Your number and your consent records are used only to deliver the sender’s messages, to honour STOP and HELP, and to keep the records the law requires. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Sample messages

Examples of what texts look like (the first text of a conversation and the STOP and HELP replies start with the sender’s name):

Riverside Bakery: Thanks for asking about the weekend workshop — spots are open Saturday at 10. Reply STOP to opt out.

Riverside Bakery: Need help? Reach us at hello@example.ca. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply.

Riverside Bakery: You’re unsubscribed and won’t get more texts from us. Reply START to resubscribe.
